Today we are renaming Dev Decks to Lurio. Same product, same team, same mission — a new name that better reflects where we are headed.
TL;DR: Dev Decks is now Lurio. Your decks, data, and account are unchanged. The product gets a new colour palette (Ultraviolet replaces teal), system-preference dark mode, and a name built for the long term. Nothing breaks, nothing migrates, nothing resets.
Why We Rebranded
When we launched, "Dev Decks" made sense. We were a small tool built by developers who happened to need better pitch decks. The name communicated exactly that.
But the product grew past its origin. Today, Lurio serves founders raising capital, sales teams prospecting enterprise accounts, agencies pitching new clients, and IR teams reporting to boards. "Dev Decks" stopped describing what the product does. It hinted at a developer audience that never was the real customer base.
We also ran into practical problems. "Dev Decks" was generic enough to collide with dozens of other products in search results, conference badges, and conversations. When three people at the same event think you said "dev docs" or "dev desks," the name is costing you, not helping you.
What "Lurio" Means
Lurio is derived from the Latin root meaning "to illuminate" — to bring something clearly into view. That is what the product does: it takes your story and makes it visible to the right audience, in the right format, with design quality that signals you take your work seriously.
It is short, distinct, and does not step on anyone else's name. It works as a domain, as a brand, and in conversation. "I built this in Lurio" lands differently than "I built this in Dev Decks."
What Changes for You
New colours. The teal primary is replaced by Ultraviolet — a deeper, more distinctive palette that works in both light and dark mode. Every foreground colour passes WCAG 2.2 AA contrast in both modes. If your system is set to dark mode, Lurio respects that preference automatically.
New name everywhere. The brand text across the app, emails, the badge on shared decks, and marketing pages now says Lurio. If you see "Dev Decks" anywhere in the product, that is a bug — let us know.
New OG images and metadata. Shared links to your decks and the marketing site will show the updated branding in social previews.
What Stays the Same
Your decks. Every deck, slide, edition, and analytics record is unchanged. Nothing was migrated, reformatted, or reset.
Your account. Login, subscription, team members, and billing are all exactly as they were.
Your links. The devdecks.ai domain continues to work. When we complete the DNS cutover to lurio.ai, existing links will redirect. No link you have shared will break.
Your brand extraction. Colours, fonts, and logos extracted from your website are stored per-deck and per-organisation. The product's brand change does not touch your brand.
The product. Lurio still designs every slide from scratch for your brand. No templates, no drag-and-drop. Audience Editions, analytics, embed, and all the features you use today work identically.
What Comes Next
The rebrand was extracted from a larger design update (animated transitions, scroll-triggered motion, refreshed marketing pages) so we could ship the identity change immediately. That animation work ships next, building on the Ultraviolet palette.
We are also rolling out organisation-level brand profiles, improved board update decks, and richer embed customisation in the coming weeks.
A Thank You
To every founder who sent their first pitch deck through Dev Decks, every sales rep who closed a deal with a shared link, and every agency that pitched a client using Audience Editions — thank you. The product exists because you used it, reported bugs, and told us what was missing.
The name changes. The work does not.
